RAINBOW MONA LISA by Kay Larch 16"x20" stretched canvass  $325.00

I created this piece using a different--and more complicated--process than the one discribed on the HOME PAGE. For RAINBOW MONA LISA, I first painted the rainbow 'grout' background. Over that, I lightly sketched the picture. Then, I actually cut out each and every 'tile' from very thick paper...and I have the calluses to prove it!...I then glued each 'tile' to the canvass, painted each individual 'tile' and applied several layers of crystal lacquer to only the painted 'tile'. I left the 'grout' flat--in the same way I do all of the others--to achieve the amazing texture.

WIZARDby Kay Larch 16"x20"  canvass $325.00

I created this piece using a different--and more complicated--process than the one discribed on the HOME PAGE.  For WIZARD, I actually cut each 'tile' out of very thick paper and then glued each 'tile' to the canvass.  I then carefully painted each individual 'tile' with acrylic paint.  When the paint was dry, I applied several layers of crystal lacquer to just the 'tiles'.  I left the white 'grout' flat.
